“I’m the king of rock, there is none higher; sucker MC’s should call me sire!”

When I first started collecting Funko Pop!s in 2015, I began looking through the catalog of all the ones that had come out before I started and made a (lengthy) list of my favorites.  The Run-DMC set, however, was amongst the top priority sets that I wanted to complete.  Fortunately, I was able to find a Run and a DMC fairly easily at the time.  Locating Jam Master Jay’s Pop! was another story entirely.

Google searches turned up nothing.  Not a single listing came up on eBay.  No one in any of the trade groups was willing to part with theirs (and I don’t blame them).  Things were looking pretty dim

I ended up creating a saved search on eBay in the hopes of scoring one.  Weeks passed…then months.  I had almost forgotten entirely about it when, about a week before Christmas, I got a hit…

Now I’m prone to rapid fire purchases and do it quite often.  This one, however, was done at the speed of light.  Thankfully, Jam Master Jay was a buy it now situation and I damn sure bought it right then and there.

I’ve since managed to meet DMC and have him sign my Pop!, which I absolutely cherish.  I’m hoping to be able to meet Rev. Run at some point and get him to sign his as well.

I absolutely love this set.  I’ve always dreamed of creating a diorama of the guys performing…perhaps some weekend I’ll sit down and tackle that project.
